Quote:   “Our present aim is to raise awareness of the problems caused by the irregularity of English spelling. We DO NOT support solutions.”

Response:   This say that people are aware of the problem with new texting language; that is working its way in the American language. Not only are the professional aware but they do not want to change any thing in the dictionary to help with today's new way of communicating with other around us. I can see the point of not wanting to change the dictionary  because our language is complex, and is very hard to learn even for people of the English language. However, I do think that some in ways texting has help out me to better explain what they are meaning, when texting. Yes, people do need to learn how to spell correctly but also there may need to be a change so that we can up with "Modern America" and the way of speech we us today. Today's world has changed along with the way of communicating with other by phone or many other devices; which don't allow us to use many world. Thus this is why I feel that a change is needed.
